New in the Opportunities tab: pages that need a refresh
Starting today, Traffalyzer finds pages that brought clicks a year ago and are slipping now, even though demand is still there. With a quest that says what to do.
A page that brought clicks a year ago and has not been touched since loses quietly. Nobody notices, because the weekly numbers only ever show a few clicks less. Starting today, Traffalyzer does the math for you.
What the analysis does
The new "Content to refresh" card in the Opportunities tab compares the last 28 days of every page with the same 28 days one year earlier, straight from Search Console. That removes seasonality: a tax guide is not compared with summer, but with the spring before.
A candidate is a page whose clicks dropped by at least 30 percent while demand stayed. Either its position slipped by at least two places, or the page is still shown and simply clicked less often. Pages whose impressions vanished to the same degree stay out: when nobody asks the question anymore, new text will not help.
Then there is age. Traffalyzer reads the last-modified date from meta tags, structured data or the sitemap. Pages that were reworked within the last year are not candidates. If the date is unknown, the page still makes the list, just further down.
What you see
Per page: clicks before and now, position before and now, the modification date with its source, and the search queries this page has lost. If the clicks merely moved to another page on your domain, the card says so. That is cannibalization, not decay.
Every candidate turns into a quest with one click. It names what the page has lost and proposes concrete sections for the lost queries. It distinguishes two cases: a lost position means other pages now answer the question better. A held position with vanishing clicks means the title and snippet no longer pull, or search answers the question itself these days. Each needs a different plan.
What you need
A connected Search Console with at least one year of data. The analysis runs the first time you open the Opportunities tab and then every Monday alongside the other metrics. Completing the quest earns 150 XP, and the weekly follow-up checks whether the clicks come back.
